Helping the indigenous cause, especially the Toniya village, is an act of humanity that goes beyond a gesture of generosity. These communities, guardians of ancestral knowledge and our own biodiversity, face great daily difficulties, such as the lack of basic necessities like food, health, housing, etc. When we extend a hand to these people, we are not only offering support, but reconnecting with our essence and with the land we all share.
Imagine living in a place where what you take for granted – drinking water, fresh food, medicine – is a constant struggle. That's what the Toniya village faces. By helping them, we are actually helping ourselves build a more just world, where everyone has a chance to live with dignity, and thus giving ourselves an opportunity to redefine our relationship with the indigenous peoples who for so many years have been exploited, mistreated, and often massacred at the hands of the 'white man', giving us an opportunity to unite with these peoples who for so many years have been resisting and fighting simply for the right to exist and express their way of life. So, helping them is the least we can do as a form of forgiveness and gratitude for so many years sustaining nature, the standing forest, the life of the planet for all humanity. Even in Brazil, most of the preserved nature is demarcated indigenous land!
Furthermore, supporting this cause is liberating: it frees us from selfishness and individualism, unlocking emotions such as empathy, compassion, and social responsibility. This is an opportunity to transform lives and, at the same time, heal ourselves from a society that often turns a blind eye to the most vulnerable.
